Don’t Miss It!
by Gerry Blitz
Are you excited to be living in this day? I am and I hope you are as well. It is amazing to see Holy Spirit stirring hearts in many places and in growing numbers. Father God is impressing upon his people a new urgency to share Christ with those around them. For us at Ten Million for Christ, God has called us to build a body of evangelists who live a 24/7 lifestyle focused on calling lost people to Christ.
As we know, Christ came into a dark world. For the most part, the chosen people of God in his generation missed their destiny. Generation upon generation looked with expectancy for the Messiah to come. In fact, when the Magi went to Jerusalem seeking the new King of the Jews, the chief priests and scribes (teachers and experts of the law) were able to tell the Magi exactly where he was to be born. (Matthew 2:1-6) These leaders had the opportunity to welcome the Messiah but didn’t, because they didn’t see with their eyes what their own mouths stated. They had created man-made expectations about who the Messiah would be and what he would look like. Because God didn’t act like they expected, because He didn’t move in the way they anticipated, they didn’t see Him. Let’s not miss this prophetic moment: the largest harvest of souls in all of world history. What a blessing to live in such a time as this. Even so, we must not sit idly by! No, you and I have a God-given destiny and assignment to fulfil.
To say this past year didn’t go as planned would be an understatement! It’s so good that our hope doesn’t rest in anything of this world. Isaiah 55:8 (NLT) reads, “’My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord. ‘And my ways are so far beyond anything you could imagine.’” What’s more, we know that God works all things together for good according to his plan. (Romans 8:28) We know of course, this does not mean we as Christians get to live the “good life,” unaffected by pain, suffering, and death. It does mean that God redeems the circumstances of our lives to use for His purposes, in His time!
COVID, which the enemy meant to bring death, isolation, and hopelessness, and even to close church doors, has brought to the forefront man’s need for God, a longing for something more than this world can give. As Christians, we have what people in this moment are seeking! We have the antidote to hopelessness: Christ living in us, which gives us the hope and guarantee of sharing in His glory. (Colossians 1:27) How much more visibly does a small light shine in the darkness than in the mid-day sun? We have been given the bright light of hope to shine for those hopelessly lost in darkness. The harvest fields are full and ripe for gathering. Do you not see it? Do not miss it! This is our God-given, God-appointed time in history.
Last year, TMFC launched The 24/7 Evangelist, a movement of men and women of all ages who will effectively share the gospel in the daily and weekly routines of their lives. We believe this arm of TMFC’s ministry will powerfully step into the harvest and bring many people to faith in Christ as God goes ahead of us and prepares hearts to receive Him. We need to partner with God’s plans and purposes and now is the time to act!
TMFC is gathering believers to join us as 24/7 Evangelists. These evangelists will dedicate themselves to planting gospel seeds, opening doors to gospel conversations, and pursuing people for Christ, one person at a time. It’s a grass-roots movement of “local evangelists” who most likely will never write a book or speak to thousands of people. Rather, they will work in the unnoticed corners of everyday life, winsomely inviting people one step closer to Jesus. These local evangelists will work in teams and will be trained and inspired by TMFC leadership to keep on going, keep on improving, and keep on pointing the world to Christ.
